A Successful Thanksgiving!

This year’s first gluttonous holiday went off without a hitch.  And the new kitchen acted like the star that she is.

By 10:15am an apple pie had been baked, a pumpkin pie was in the oven, cream had been whipped, the turkey was stuffed, rubbed (with sage butter!), and ready to go.  The ingredients for the mashed potatoes, green beans, and sweet potatoes were standing in the wings.

This pic, taken during my cooking craziness, represents so many things I’m thankful for.  Can you find them all?

  1. Baby bottles, indicating the presence of the twins close by.
  2. My Husband and Mother-in-law who happily entertained the twins all day.  Notice their absence in the photo.
  3. Wine.  No explanation necessary.
  4. Cheese.  Who doesn’t love it?
  5. Coffee.  How else do you think I got all that done before 10:15am!?
  6. Recipe book – any time I spend cooking, or doing anything for that matter, that doesn’t involve diapers or drool, is treasured.
  7. The absence of other humans or animals.  Any alone time is a true gift these days.
  8. My lovely new kitchen.  Couldn’t have done it without you!!

Hoping your holiday was a happy one!
