A traveling carnival star?

Driving through northern Minnesota, you’re likely to run into several large statues including a huge pelican, a polar bear stepping on a seal, and of course… several renditions of Paul Bunyan (the one most likely to have actually resided in the area if he actually existed).  But, only Paul Bunyan, along with his trusty Blue Ox (rumored to have been a traveling carnival star – who knew?!?), in Bemidji, MN, were recently listed in Time magazine’s Top 50 American Roadside Attractions list.

Someday, I’ll tell the story of Cordwood Pete, Paul’s little brother!  I know, I know… you just gasped and said, “What?  He has a little brother?  I must know more!”  In due time, in due time.
