Cloth vs. Disposable

The results of our poll, “Cloth or Disposable Diapers?”

23% – Definitely disposable. Pampers here I come!

31% – Disposable, but eco-friendly.

8% – Cloth all the way!  I don’t mind doing laundry.

38% – Mixture of both depending on the situation.

As a work-at-home Mom-to-be, I’m all for using cloth for environmental reasons.  My husband, on the other hand, is more about convenience… and rightly so because we are both busy and only going to get busier!  However, after putting together a nifty little spreadsheet outlining diapering costs for twins over the course of two years* (including laundry and energy costs), we are both sold on the “Mixture of both depending on the situation” option.

Depending on the type of cloth diaper you choose, savings can average between $2100-2600 over the course of two years!

Check out all these terrific cloth diapering options.  These aren’t your mama’s diapers!  Even the old pre-folds have been greatly improved upon.

*In a perfect world, they will be trained far before the 2 year mark!
