Our First Visit with Dr. Henriott

After graduating from the fertility clinic back in February (an exciting day, indeed!), we met with Linda Given Welch, C.N.M., M.S., a wonderful nurse and mid-wife. You see, our initial assumption was that we’d have a singleton pregnancy, a nice, quiet, natural birth… well, all that changed pretty quickly upon our first ultrasound at 6 weeks when Dr. Feinberg said with a smile and a twinkle in her eye, “Well, they’re both in there,” knowing that she would probably spot two little egg sacks in my uterus after seeing the high HCG levels on my initial pregnancy test.

Due to the high risk pregnancy (twins and my age of 38) we need to be closely monitored by a doctor as well as Linda. We’ve chosen Dr. Henriott to do the job. We heard two solid heartbeats today and will be going back for our next follow-up in one month. We’ll do a quick ultrasound at that time and get set up for the big one where they take a peek at all the anatomy, organs, etc. We’re curious to know whether or not the twins will cooperate and let us in on their gender secret! We’ll keep you posted. Whether or not we’ll tell is another mystery.
